The SAP Social Innovation Series Empowers Students Across The Country
Posted December 04, 2017
What an incredible week! For the third year in a row, AdVenture Capital teamed up with global technology leader SAP for the Social Innovation Series, and what a series it was!
Over the course of three days, over 180 students participated in innovation events in Boston, Dallas, and Phoenix, with over 35 schools participating, and 92 innovative projects pitched.
During these events, over 50 SAP employee volunteer mentors worked alongside students to help them develop innovative yet practical solutions. Through rapid prototyping and design thinking exercises, students refined their ideas into a pitch that they delivered to a panel of judges comprised of SAP executives in a "Shark Tank-style" competition. Ten projects in each city were awarded $1000 to bring their idea to life – that’s $30,000 from SAP to help fund student-led solutions to health and wellness challenges in schools.
But that’s not all that our brave entrepreneurs won! One student from each city will receive the grand prize -- the title of SAP Teen Innovator and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from the CEO & Founder of FUBU, Co-Star of ABC’s Shark Tank and New York Times Bestselling Author, Daymond John, at his New York City office. We’re so excited for amazing, brave and bold social entrepreneurs and this opportunity.
Stay tuned for more information and a photo gallery and list of winners from each city. We can't wait to see everyone's BIG ideas come to life!
